Our ASP based software connects directly with Medicare, Medicaid and Blue Cross Blue Shield and the balance insurance companies are connected via WebMDs clearing house. What do pilot programs look like (# of collectors, length of time, expectations and results)? How long does it take to get them started?
The number of collectors engaged during the pilot phase is usually client defined. The number of agents are based on the type of work (I.e. collections, billing, coding etc.) and the monthly volumes. The pilot phase usually runs between 1 _ to 3 months. During the pilot we agree to meet 65% of the SLAs within the 1st month, 80% within the 2nd month and 90% in the 3rd month. A pilot takes about 2- 4 weeks to start.

Do Sri Lankan workers have the right cultural profile to collect debt?
Culturally, the Sri Lankan people are well suited for following processes and showing empathy. Typically, a US based collector will give up on a collections call after receiving two or three objections. The Sri Lankan profile allows them to follow the check list of five to six points as prescribed in our training.
How will you manage attrition?
Attrition has been a major issue with Indian call centers as industry growth and competition has created many opportunities and financial incentives to jump from company to company. As an early mover in the Sri Lankan market MediGain will not face these competitive pressures. Additionally, typical call centers will focus on customer service and can provide small bonuses for reaching performance metrics. In the collections business we can create a highly variable comp plan as the agents and companies goals are completely aligned and successful collections agents will be able to learn significantly higher bonuses than customer service agents.
